Buttock enhancement, also referred to as gluteal augmentation, is a plastic surgery procedure to improve the contour, shape, and size of the buttocks. There are several plastic surgery methods used to achieve gluteal enhancement. Dr. Clinton Webster has extensive experience using fat-grafting to perform buttock enhancement. This technique is most commonly referred to as Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL).
Buttock augmentation can increase fullness, roundness, and projection of your buttocks resulting in a more pleasing contour. Many improve the balance of their figure as well as enhance their self-image and self-confidence.
Plastic surgery is a highly individualized and personal decision. You should consider having plastic surgery for yourself, and not to please someone else or to try to fit someone else’s ideal image. If you are physically healthy, have realistic expectations, and feel you are unhappy with the size and shape of your butt, you may be a good candidate for buttock enhancement.
Brazilian Butt Lift is performed under general anesthesia in an out-patient office-based facility. Dr. Webster uses only board-certified medical doctors to administer general anesthesia. The average fee for BBL is approximately $7,500.00 (this fee includes general anesthesia and facility fees). Other costs can include prescription medications to be taken post-operatively, post-surgical support garments, and special pillows required for your recovery. Remember that your confidence in your surgeon’s expertise and skill and your comfort with the surgeon and his team, are important when considering costs related to your decision to have plastic surgery.
The first step to having plastic surgery is your consultation appointment. Once you have registered as a patient, you will be escorted to an exam room. Prior to your physical examination your surgical goals, medical concerns, and past and present medical conditions will be discussed. Dr. Webster will evaluate your general health based on the history provided, he will examine you and note detailed body measurements. Pre-operative photographs will be taken and placed in your medical chart. Dr. Webster and his staff will discuss in detail all aspects of the BBL procedure including likely outcomes, risks and potential complications, and recommend a treatment course. It is natural to feel some anxiety about having plastic surgery. It is Dr. Webster’s goal to ease any anxiety you may experience. Understanding the procedure and what is involved will help your anxiety turn to excitement as you anticipate your new look
BBL is performed using liposuction to “harvest” excess fat through small, inconspicuous incisions. The dislodged fat is suctioned and processed, then added to your buttocks with several small injections all over your behind. The results are immediately visible, however, you will not see your results until one year following your surgery, as it can take a while for the fat to “take.” Most patients average 60-80% fat retention (in some cases more, in some cases less). Satisfaction with your new image should continue to grow as you recover and realize the fulfillment of your goal for a fuller butt. Overall results can be long-lasting if you maintain a stable weight and healthy lifestyle. Keep in mind that this fat can behave like other fat in your body. If you gain weight, the fat in your buttocks may grow. If you lose weight, you may lose volume as the fat in your buttocks shrinks. Following Dr. Webster’s post-operative instructions is essential for the success of your surgery.
